But if you like the look and feel of the XPS 13 and would prefer a clamshell model , this XPS is still a great option.
Theres an OLED model of the XPS 13 as well, which costs $300 more than the FHD model. This model has worse battery life, but does deliver a stunning picture.

Two Awful Business Laptops
We purchased two expensive business laptops from Dell only in November. They were not started to be used till January. Both laptops keep crashing using Microsoft apps constantly and one has problems with its fan and over heats and the other one stop charging . I have been on the phone to 7 people two weeks in a row demanding refund under “Dell Commercial Terms of Sale for the United Kingdom” without any success. Each phone call, I repeated myself saying “I would like to have a refund” and still I am put through the wrong Dell staff. Not acceptable customer service and I am not sure if I can recommend Dell to anyone!!

I have been trying to purchage a new monitor from Dell, and the first one I bought broke down after a week. I then requested it to be replaced. Then the sent me a refurbished unit, which broke down after 3 days. I finally requested a refund.

As the screen is under warranty, I contacted the customer service for a replacement. I used the WhatsApp service . The service agreed to replace the screen in 2-3 days. A few days after, I received an email saying the replacement part is out of stock, and they do not have any ETA. I then asked for a refund, or an equivalent screen while I wait for the replacement. Dell refused both proposition, failing to reach a commun ground.Edit: I filled a claim for money at the County Court Business Centre today .

To test battery life in a real-life scenario, I set up both Inspiron 13 laptops to stream Netflix video at 1080p. I ran them at a balanced setting, but cranked the display brightness to maximum.
As an EVO laptop, these should return battery life of 9+ hours. I averaged just about nine hours . Had I been more aggressive in the battery optimization and turned down the screen brightness a bit, another hour or two of battery life would be possible.
While its not a battery life champion, the Dell Inspiron 13 should be able to last most people a full day of use without having to plug in. And when you do need to seek out a power outlet, the 65W USB-C charger is relatively compact. The laptop also supports express charging, which should get the battery to 80% after one hour.

Please do not buy a dell laptop. We bought a dell laptop for our daughter when she started her medical degree. Within the 2 year warranty the keyboard broke. Via John Lewis who were helpful and Dell who were problematic to communicate with it was fixed by having a new keyboard fitted. Fast forward only one year and the keyboard has failed again. Dell have refused to fix it free of charge claiming it is out of warranty and as a gesture of goodwill are fixing it at a reduced price! Still £100. Shame on you Dell.
