The Best Laptop For Business Travel
In many ways, the ThinkPad X1 Nano is a run-of-the-mill ThinkPad. Its got a solid sturdy chassis, discrete clickers, a physical privacy shutter, a red TrackPoint in the middle of the keyboard, and all kinds of business-specific security and management features.
But the Nano is special because its the lightest ThinkPad Lenovo has ever made. Its also one of the lightest laptops you can buy, at just 1.99 pounds. Youre not sacrificing performance to get that mindblowing weight: The Nano kept up with our heavy testing workloads without any fan noise or noticeable heat. If youre looking for a reliable business laptop that will feel like nothing in your briefcase, this is the one for you.
Samsung Galaxy Book2 360 Review: Performance
- Solid performance for productivity software
- Casual gaming only
GeekBench 5: 1,608 7,100 PCMark 10: 5,022 pointsBattery Life : 11 hours, 10 minutes
The Intel Core i5 processor that powers the Samsung Galaxy Book2 360 is a versatile 10-core chip, which includes eight power-efficient cores that can vary their clock speed from 1.3GHz to 3.3GHz as required, in order to preserve battery life as much as possible.
There are also two performance cores that run at 4.4GHz in order to handle more demanding tasks. These produce a very respectable score of 7,100 for multi-core performance when running GeekBench 5, outgunning the Surface Laptop 4 and only slightly behind the current version of the MacBook Air . Running the applications-based PCMark 10 test suite, the Book 2 scored 5022, putting it around the half-way mark in the overall PCMark results table – thats pretty good going for a laptop costing well under $1000/£1000 – and providing all the power you need for web browsing and running productivity software such as Microsoft Office.
What Is The Cheapest 2
Within our list of the best 2-in-1 laptops available to buy, the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook is the cheapest at $259.99. It’s a 10.1-inch Chromebook tablet-first detachable. If you prefer a Windows laptop rather than a Chromebook, consider the Microsoft Surface Go 3. It costs $399.99 and is a 10.5-inch budget detachable.

What Are The Best Hp Gaming Laptops
The HP Omen 17 is a powerhouse of a machine with a singular purpose: to provide the richest and most impressive gaming experience possible. To that end, HP chose to outfit it with Intelâs mighty 12th Gen Alder Lake processor and Nvidiaâs ray-tracing capable RTX 3080 Ti GPU. While youâll have to part with a sizable sum to get your hands on this one, the Omen 17 translates every cent spent into incredible on-screen performance.
In contrast, the HP Victus 15 is more attuned to that of an entry-level gamer or budget buyer. While its specs donât match that of the Omen 17, it remains a quality machine capable of playing a wide variety of games â as long as you donât mind passing up on the highest graphical settings in more modern titles. However, for a little extra, there are configurations available to dramatically increase the Victusâ graphical capabilities with an entry-level RTX 30-series GPU.
If youâre looking for a brilliant HP laptop for both gaming and VR, a great starting point would be the Victus 16. Outfitted with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, the Victus 16 is more than capable of some solid gaming results and impressive frame counts in lots of modern AAA titles. Should you want to get invested in the world of VR the Victus is well-equipped to take on that challenge, bypassing the minimum requirements for both Steam Link and Meta Quest 2 PCVR.
Which Laptops Last The Longest
Depending on what you buy and how you use it, a good laptop thats well cared for should last at least three to five years. A good ultrabook, a business laptop, or a MacBook will feel sturdier, last longer, and perform better than a cheap sub-$500 laptop with a mostly plastic frame and a basic processor. And a laptop that you primarily use around the house will last longer than one that you travel with frequently. Some business laptops or photo and video editing laptops are easier to upgrade with more memory and storage later to extend their useful life. A gaming laptop will feel outdated sooner than most other kinds of laptops, since new 3D games become more demanding at a faster rate than other apps.

Is It Worth Buying A 2
In our opinion, this is naturally an interesting option to consider because of the various benefits weve mentioned so far. Getting one of these devices will also save you money since youre effectively buying two devices for the price of one. In fact, our test confirmed that this is probably the main reason why its popularity keeps growing alongside the number of units sold.
This Older Icon Is Now Much Cheaper
The Surface Pro X was a unique design when it debuted a couple of years ago, and though its hardware isn’t quite as cutting-edge as it once was, it’s still unique in the laptop space and still performs rather well for the cheap price you can find it for today. It has an incredible thin-bezel design, too, which separates it from most of Microsoft’s other 2-in-1s. Its 13-inch 2K display looks beautiful in both tablet and laptop mode, so you’ll get a great experience whether you’re using this for work, or propping it up in tent mode to watch your favorite films.

How We Test Laptops
We put 2-in-1 laptops through extensive benchmark testing â both synthetic and real-world â before they end up in the hands of our reviewers. We evaluate each aspect of the laptop, including its performance, battery life, display, speakers and heat management.
In our benchmark testing, we use a Klein K10 colorimeter to detect the brightness and sRGB color gamut of the laptop’s display. For performance testing, we run the laptop through a gauntlet of benchmarks, including Geekbench 4.3 and 5.0 and 3DMark professional graphics tests.
To determine real-world performance, we task the laptop to convert a 4K video to 1080p resolution and to duplicate a 4.97GB multimedia file. Our real-world graphics test is the Dirt 3 benchmark with medium settings at 1080p resolution. Gaming laptops go through an entire library of games at high settings to see how their discrete GPUs keep up.
We also run heat tests by playing a 15-minute full-screen video and measuring temperatures in different areas of the laptop. Last but not least, our battery test consists of continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness. For MacBooks and premium Windows 10 laptops, a runtime of over 9 hours is considered a good result whereas gaming laptops and workstations that can stay powered for longer than 5 hours deserve praise.
These tests are complemented with extensive hands-on testing from our reviewers who critique everything from the laptop’s materials to the feel of its touchpad.

What Types Of 2
There are two main types of 2-in-1 laptops on the market: those with 360-degree rotating hinges, and those with chiclet keyboards.
The former is more suitable for people who most often use them as a standard laptop. These models can be used in various ways since the keyboard also doubles as standing support. The latter is more tailored for mobility and use as a tablet since the keyboard also acts as a carrying case.
Either way, our tests show that both types are great for productivity. Defining which is better depends on the buyers opinion.
Characteristics of a 360-degree hinge:
- Design: The screen can be folded into a flat tablet.
- Features: More advanced features are offered. These models generally integrate more powerful processors and have more RAM in comparison to other 2-in-1 laptops.
- Dimensions: These are generally larger and heavier.
- Connections: They offer more USB and HDMI ports, as well as expansion slots.
Characteristics of a chiclet keyboard:
- Design: The keyboard can be completely separated and double as a carrying case.
- Features: Performance tends to be inferior, limited by the need for the components to fit within the screen.
- Dimensions: Smaller dimensions offer functionality similar to that of tablets, meaning that they are lighter.
- Connections: Since they have limited available space, some only feature one USB port and a video connection.
What To Look For When Buying 2
Performance– While some 2-in-1 devices excel mainly as a way to consume media, others can also serve as powerful creation machines. When selecting a 2-in-1 hybrid for your lifestyle, be sure that it has enough of what you need to get work done like a powerful CPU, loads of RAM, and a fast GPU.
Form factor– Most 2-in-1s will either allow you to fold the keyboard behind the screen or completely remove it when you want to use the device as a tablet. Consider the pros and cons of each: While a removable keyboard makes your device much lighter in tablet mode, youll need to keep track of it. Conversely, a flip-back keyboard will result in a bulkier machine, but youll always have it on hand when you need it.
Battery life– Make sure your new 2-in-1s battery life is up to par. You wouldnt want to buy a new device just to learn that it can’t make it through a Netflix binge or your favorite movie.

How We Test Computers
The review process for laptops, desktops, tablets and other computer-like devices consists of two parts: performance testing under controlled conditions in the CNET Labs and extensive hands-on use by our expert reviewers. This includes evaluating a device’s aesthetics, ergonomics and features. A final review verdict is a combination of both those objective and subjective judgments.
The list of benchmarking software we use changes over time as the devices we test evolve. The most important core tests we’re currently running on every compatible computer include: Primate Labs Geekbench 5, Cinebench R23, PCMark 10 and 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra.
A more detailed description of each benchmark and how we use it can be found in our How We Test Computers page.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of 2
In our product tests, these hybrid computers offered the functionality, capacity, and performance of a regular laptop as well as the comfort and versatility of a touch-screen tablet. Their extremely light weight also means you can take them with you virtually anywhere.
On the downside, the test demonstrates that these laptops tend to offer little storage space since they often integrate SSDs. You should also be careful with models featuring hinges because excessive use will eventually damage your laptop.
- These devices are very versatile and adapt to many different situations.
- Their frequently compact dimensions make them lightweight and easily transportable.
- Touch screens and keyboards are featured.
- More power is generally offered on these than on tablets.
- You can use the same software you use on a standard computer.
- They offer great value for money.
- Their operating systems load faster thanks to their SSD storage units.
- Excessive use of the hinge can end up damaging or breaking the device.
- They have fairly low storage capacity.
Yes Its A Phenomenal 2
Despite some competition for more niched features, this is still well worth the price for an all-rounder laptop.
The HP Spectre 14 has a multitude of great qualities. Its beautiful, has an amazing OLED display, comes with a good pressure-sensitive stylus, feels good to hold as a tablet and as a laptop, sports a five-inch trackpad thats smooth as glass, sounds better than a MacBook, packs in solid performance and battery life for most productivity tasks. It retails for $1,549, but weve already seen it sell for as low as $1,249. The HP Spectre 14 is easily one of the best 2-in-1s out there.
If you love everything about the HP Spectre 14 but wish it had just a bit more power, the Lenovo Yoga 9i is a great alternative. The Yoga 9is power boost is useful for tasks like film production and photo editing, shaving off minutes from render times, and its battery life doesnt take a massive hit in the process.
However, if youre more concerned with a 2-in-1s capabilities for an artist-worthy stylus experience, the MSI Summit E16 Flips 16-inch 2K display is breathtaking to look at and responds well to the included MSI Pen. Its also one of the most powerful of the bunch, but its larger screen and higher power draw do drain its battery faster.

Samsung Galaxy Book2 360 Review: Design
- Slim, lightweight design
- Convertible tablet/laptop
- Good connectivity
The Galaxy Book2 360 might not win any awards for original design, bearing a marked resemblance to the MacBook Air, with its 13.3-inch display, silvery gray casing and tapering profile.
But, of course, the Book2 360 is far more versatile, thanks to its touch-screen controls and convertible design that allows you to fold the screen right back and use it as a tablet. Its even lighter than the MacBook Air too, weighing just 1.16kg, and measuring a mere 12.9mm thick, compared to 1.29kg and 16.1mm for the current version of the MacBook Air.
As mentioned, the AMOLED screen is a delight, despite its relatively modest 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, and it works a treat for watching video or doing a spot of photo-editing work. The Book2 360 is solidly built too, with a firm keyboard and large trackpad – although the individual keys dont travel very well, and feel a little lifeless when typing at speed.
Many lightweight laptops have to compromise on connectivity to keep their weight down, but the Samsung Galaxy Book2 360 manages to provide one Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB-C and one USB-A , along with a microSD card slot, combo audio in/out, and even HDMI for connecting an external display.
Theres also Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connectivity too. Our only real complaint is that the 720p webcam isnt great – producing a slightly grainy image that is easily washed out in bright daylight.
