Msi Gf76 Katana Best Value
- Interesting design with plenty of flair
- Comfortable keyboard and trackpad
If youre on a tight budget , the MSI GF76 Katana is an excellent value pick. It features an Intel Core i7-12700H CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050Ti GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of PCle 4 SSD storage. In other words, this laptop is fast enough to handle most photo-editing work as well as everyday use like browsing the web and streaming Netflix. The trackpad and keyboard are surprisingly comfortable, too.
The only real knock against this machine is the dim display. Its not horrible, but some photo editors may prefer a brighter screen. That said, its 17.3-inches and thats a ton of screen real estate to work with. If youre a beginner photo editor looking to save some money, the GF76 Katana is well worth considering.
Apple Macbook Air Best For Mac Users
The Air is a stylish laptop that shouts simplicity and luxury at the same time. As anticipated from Apple, it is available in three colors: gold, silver, and grey.
It weighs just 2.8 pounds. Dont be deceived by the thinness and diminutive size of the screen it is composed of premium products that make it durable and long-lasting.
On either hand, using the keyboard is quite peaceful, and pressing the buttons is an incredible sensation.
The 13-inch screen of the MacBook Air has a total resolution of 2500 x 1600 pixels. It has a well-known retina display from Apple. Retina displays, which are IPS LCD & OLED displays with higher pixel densities, are featured on this laptop. This laptop distinguishes out from the competition because of its gorgeous display.
It is powered by Apple M1, another homegrown component that rocks the CPU industry. The eight-core Apple M1 CPU is 3.5 times faster than the previous generation. Everything you throw at it, including editing, simple activities, and even gaming, will be handled easily.
It back with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD for memory and storage, but you can upgrade to a 512GB SSD for a greater cost. Nevertheless, I think 256GB is plenty.
A MacBook Air that I had the chance to test effortlessly lasted 8 to 10 hours while using some demanding editing tools.

- Great Specs For The Price
What I Dont Like
- The Keyboard Is Not Visible In Dark Environments
Lets start with a Lenovo laptop, an Ideapad, which offers a price-point value that is nearly impossible to beat.
With its nifty tricks under its sleeve, Lenovos Ideapad 3i is a newly introduced Laptop that is dominating all the charts in the budget and mid-range categories.
Lenovo has a history of producing beautiful laptops, regardless of price, and the new IdeaPad 3 is no different. With its brushed aluminum lid and keyboard surround, it doesnt look like a budget laptop. It is relatively light, weighing only 2 kilograms, making transportation a breeze.
Apart from the unique up and down arrows, the sleek keyboard is neatly spaced out, with a special function row at the top, and the keys are a decent size.
As far as the display goes, it is a basic FHD resolution. There is nothing groundbreaking to see here.
Under its hood, it features an Intel Core i5-10210U Processor that goes up to a max turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz. This CPU offers speedy connectivity and contributes to battery life. As for the GPU, it uses an integrated one, Intel UHD Graphics.
The RAM memory is unquestionably the star of the show here. It comes with a massive 20GB of DDR4 SDRAM. The storage, on the other hand, is excellent, with a 512GB SSD. With that being said, performance-wise, when it comes to editing on a budget, it wont disappoint.
Why should you buy it?
Weight And Physical Size
The weight and physical size of a laptop is very much up to you as the user, and what you think you will be doing with your laptop. If you will be moving it around a lot and having to carry it, then the weight and size will be more of a consideration.
If it will mostly sit on a desk, with the odd foray to a sofa or coffee shop, then weight and size may be less important.
Weight and size do tend to translate well to power. Physically larger laptops have more room for cooling fans and heatsinks, meaning they can fit higher powered components inside. Smaller laptops, also often referred to as ultrabooks, have to use lower powered components due to thermal restrictions.

It smokes the competition across nearly every one of our tests and has an insane battery life and near-silent operation. Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5

Besides, the price is lower compared to the average laptops of the category. The device comes with a stylus to help you make edits or draw directly on the screen. Thus, it is a great laptop for artists.
You can fold the laptop lid to convert it into a tablet. However, it offers only 74% of the sRGB color gamut, resulting in a less accurate color reproduction. If you are a beginner, you need to improve colors carefully to get a satisfactory result.

How Much Processing Power Will I Need
For most photo editing work, an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor is fine. Need more oomph? Go for an Intel Core i9. The most important thing is the number of cores. The more cores, the better your CPU can divide the workload. For AMD options, the Ryzen 5 series is zippy enough for basic photo editing work. If you need faster response times, shoot for a Ryzen 9.
Asus Vivobook 15 Oled

REASONS TO BUY
- Shorter battery life
Our Rating: 9.7/10
The ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED is one of the incredibly high number and range of models available from ASUSs VivoBook lineup. If youre looking for a laptop, chances are one of the many, many VivoBooks will work.
The question is always which one, and that question becomes even more pointed when youre looking at a fairly specific and often professional task like photo editing.
Part of that shine is literal: the VivoBook 15 has a 390 nit max brightness, making it one of the brightest budget laptops available in 2022 and therefore suitable for the widest range of environments. Color fidelity is also a strong point, with 100% sRGB coverage, giving you a solid indication of how your images are going to look on most screens and platforms.
Now the bad news: this VivoBook 15 is only FHD . If this was 2019 we would not bat an eye. Even in 2022, were not going to be mad if a gaming or work laptop is only 1080p if it makes up for it in other areas, like price and/or performance.
The screen brightness is also inconsistent at the extreme ends, with there being noticeable differences between center and edges at maximum and minimum brightness.

Memory: Check Your Gigs
Recommendation: 8 GB for average recreational use, 16 GB for power users.
Creatives require sufficient memory to run powerful programs at an adequate speed. RAM, or random access memory, enables photo files to run quickly and multiple instructions to run at once without lagging. While recreational users can get by with 8GB, professional graphic artists and skilled photographers typically need at least 16GB to head off crashes, freezes, and unexpected shutdowns.

Choosing A Laptop For Photo Editing
The best Windows photo editing apps and the best Photoshop alternatives on the market today all run best on a laptop with modern Intel or AMD CPUs, plenty of RAM, fast storage, and a color-accurate display with high resolution.

Best Laptop For Photo Editing In 2022 + How To Choose
Last updated: –
Editing photos is one of the key parts of any photographers workflow. But it can also be one of the more frustrating parts, because photo editing software tends to be resource hungry. This means you need the right tool for the job, and picking the right laptop for photo editing is important.
Whilst a high-powered desktop is often the tool of choice, this isnt going to work for everyone. This is especially the case if you travel a lot like I do, or just want something that you can take to a coffee shop for some work.
With this in mind, I wanted to put together a guide to the best laptops for photo editing. I will cover a range of laptops with a variety of capabilities suitable for a wide range of budgets.
There are a number of factors to consider when picking a laptop for editing photos, and Ill cover each of these factors in detail. Then Ill provide a list of the best laptops for photo editing across a variety of budgets. This is based on my personal experience with photo editing on a range of laptops, as well as my background in computer technology.
How We Test Laptops
When reviewing a laptop, we assess its internal hardware features, build quality, ergonomics, performance in a variety of usage scenarios, value for money, and its overall suitability for its target buyer. Although we’ll evaluate a laptop with a typical user in mind, we will also pay particular attention to the perspective of photo and video enthusiasts, with special focus given to screen quality and color space coverage. Where possible, a monitor calibrator will be used to measure a laptop’s display performance to assess whether it matches a manufacturer’s claims, and software benchmarks like GeekBench are used to measure a laptop’s processor and graphics card capabilities.

He’s also the team’s man-at-arms when it comes to camera bags, filters, memory cards, and all manner of camera accessories his lab is a bit like the Batcave of photography! Best Overall: 2021 Macbook Pro 16
Why It Made The Cut: With its large screen and high-capacity RAM capabilities, the new MacBook Pro is our top pick for best overall laptop for photo editing.
Specs: Processor: 10-core Apple M1 Max GPU RAM: 16 GB to 64 GB Storage: 1 TB to 8 TB SSD
The MacBook Pros large display and powerful processing system make it our top choice for photo editing. The newest version of the MacBook Pro also benefits from Apples heat-reducing tech so you dont have to worry about the computer heating up and slowing down while you are editing images. The keyboard has been redesigned as well, making it much more comfortable to quickly edit images using shortcuts or for rating and sorting images after a shoot. Its one of the more expensive laptops currently on the market, but its massive screen and processing capabilities make this an ideal choice for photo editing.
Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon
With a 14 screen, the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon sits between the higher end 15+ laptops further on in our list and the more portable 13 ultraportables. However, it is still remarkably lightweight given the larger screen.
As always, a variety of configurations are on offer. We suggest the i5-1260P with 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD and 14 inch 1920×1200 Full HD display as it is a good balance between price and performance. Of course, different configurations are available, including a higher resolution 3840 x 2400 screen, faster processor, and more storage and RAM.
As this is an ultraportable rather than a high-end powerhouse, this laptop doesnt have a discrete graphics card.
Those of you who love the Thinkpad range but want a bit more power and screen real estate might consider the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme instead, which comes with a 16 screen and the Intel H series processors, as well as the option for a discrete graphics processor.
Key specifications: Intel Core i7-1260P, 512GB SSD, 16GB RAMScreen: 14 1920 x 1200 IPS screen, 100% sRGB coverageWeight: 2.49lbs / 1.13kg

Hp Pavilion 156 Gaming Laptop Shadow Black
Pretty similar to the one that stole my heart, but with an AMD Ryzen 5 4600H processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Graphics. Although, the aforementioned feeling when pulling up the screen isnt present in this one since it has a wider design.
- The Ryzen CPU is impressive and behaves better than average Intel ones.
- It is lighter than it seems, which is always a much-appreciated feature.
- Ready to work in less than a minute
- Theres no way to change the green keyboard backlight.
- The extremely edgy borders make carrying it around a bit of risk, especially if you have some clumsy hands like me .
