Dell Xps 15 Oled Audio
Excuse the colloquialism, but these speakers are bumpin’. I instinctively bobbed my head to Slenderbodies’ “superpowerful” when the chorus erupted into a flurry of electric guitar twangs and drum beats interlacing smooth, powerful vocals. Each instrument in this complex tune had its own position in the soundstage I could hear the finger snaps behind the electric guitar plucks and hushed falsettos.
I threw the speakers a curveball with The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” a song that typically devolves into a cacophony of loud noises on most laptops I test. That wasn’t the case on the XPS 15, which put the vocals at the forefront and expertly separated the overlapping guitar twangs. Those who own an older XPS 15 should take solace in knowing the sound quality on this latest model is transformatively better.
I was never hip enough to host a college party, but I’ll go out on a limb and say the XPS 15’s quad speakers are powerful enough to blast clear, dynamic music through your dorm hall. So, against our usual advice, skip the computer speakers and use your laptop to jam out.

Best Laptop For Editing Photos: Top 10 List
Choosing the appropriate laptop for editing photos can be tough. However, if you consider these factors, your job will be easier. These factors will be discussed:
- Product Quality: One of the most important factors to consider when purchasing a product is its quality. Nobody would want a low-quality or easily worn-out object. They are even willing to spend a somewhat greater price for a good product.
- Sturdiness: Reliability and durability are inextricably linked. Because it is tough and resilient, your laptop for editing photos will last you for many months.
- Product availability: New items are frequently introduced to replace outdated products. This new product has most likely been updated in some way and may thus have new features.
- Seller’s Rank: Don’t you find it fascinating? You must have an excellent product, be known, and grow. These are both significant objectives. The product is successful based on its growing user base. Because more people are purchasing things, producers must provide better after-sales service and quality.
- Customer Feedback: You will not be held liable for things that went wrong with previous clients, will you? If you see higher ratings, you can rely on these.

Dell Xps 15 Oled Heat
With heat dispersed across its large metal undercarriage, the XPS 15 never caught a fever. In fact, it warmed only to the average human body temperature of 98 degrees Fahrenheit after we played a 15-minute, 1080p video. That is slightly above our 95-degree comfort threshold, but nothing to be too concerned about. Better yet, the keyboard and touchpad reached only 92 and 75 degrees, respectively.

What To Look For In A Laptop For Video Editing
The most important thing to look for in a laptop for video editing is its CPU and GPU. The faster your hardware, the faster your edits, essentially. In addition to subjecting all of the laptops above to our usual battery of benchmarks, we also ran the UL Procyon Video Editing Test on several high-powered laptops to see which hardware performs best for this sort of work. The benchmark tasks Adobe Premiere with importing two different video projects, applying visual effects such as color grading and transitions, and then exporting it using H.264, H.265 at both 1080p and 4K.

The best performance came from big, heavy laptops running Intels 11th-generation processors, though notebooks with AMDs beefy Ryzen 9 processors came in just behind, with 10th-gen Intel chips still putting up a respectable score. Theyre not in the chart above, but newer Intel 12th-gen laptops run even faster still. The best-performing laptops all paired modern Intel CPUs with Nvidias RTX 30-series GPUs, which isnt surprising as both companies have invested a lot of time and resources into optimizing their Adobe performance.
In general, having any sort of discrete graphics is preferred, with at least an RTX 3060 recommended for serious video editing.

Hard Drive Type And Capacity
The hard drive inside your laptop, also referred to as a hard disk or disk drive, is where all the data is stored. Normally this data is referred to as individual files. For example, a photo would be a file on the hard drive.
Other types of files include word processing documents, program files , and music files.
There are two main types of hard drive, solid state drives and mechanical hard drives, which are usually just referred to as hard drives or hard disk drives .
Mechanical hard drives are an older technology that involves fast spinning disk platters that are read by magnets. They have the advantage of being able to offer very high capacities for relatively low prices, and the disadvantage of being slower and more prone to failure.
Solid state hard drives are more like flash memory cards. There are no moving parts, and so they are far less likely to fail. They are also much faster when it comes to reading and writing data. They are however more expensive.
Hard drive capacity is measured in terms of bytes. The bigger the number, the more you can store on the drive. The numbers these days have gotten very large, so the number of bytes is often referred to in terms of Megabytes , Gigabytes and Terabytes .
To give you an idea of what these mean, an average RAW image file is between 20 and 50 MB. So if you have 10,000 image files, you would need between 200 GB and 500 GB of storage space.

Msi Ge76 Raider Best Gaming Laptop For Video Editing
- 12th-gen Core i9-12900HK simply sings
- New AI performance mode greatly moderates fan noise.
- 1080p webcam and good mic and audio makes for decent video conferencing PC
- Third iteration in the same body

The MSI GE76 Raider chewed through the Adobe Premiere test in ULs Procyon benchmark faster than any other notebook thanks to its burly 14-core Intel Core i9-12900HK chip, an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti tuned for a blistering 175 watts, and ample interior cooling. It even has an SD Express card reader hooked into the PCIe bus for high-speed card transfers. One downside to using last years model was its gamer-focused 360Hz 1080p display, but the higher-end version of this years 12UHS added a 4K, 120Hz panel that, while not tuned for content creation, should satisfy video editors much more, especially with its spacious 17.3-inch screen size. You sure pay for all that firepower, though.

Q: What Specs Do I Need For A Photo Editing Laptop
When it comes to specs for photo editing, at minimum, you should look for a 4-core CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a screen that can reproduce 100% of the sRGB color space. As budget allows, you can upgrade from there. The best laptops use 6- or 8-core CPUs, 16 or 32GB of RAM, 1TB or more of fast SSD storage, a discrete graphics card, and a display that covers 100% of the DCI-P3 or AdobeRGB color spaces.
Asus Zenbook Pro Duo 15 Heat
The ZenBook Pro Dup 15 is meant for powering through video and photo edits so staying cool is important. Add two 4K screens to the mix and you might expect a meltdown. And yet, the ZenBook Pro kept its cool.
During our heat test, which involves playing a 15-minute, 1080p video, the underside reached 113 degrees Fahrenheit, which is toasty but not concerningly so. The keyboard hit 86 degrees and the touchpad was a cool 82 degrees. The keys and touchpad temperatures are below our 95-degree comfort threshold.

Dell Xps 15 Oled Performance
The XPS 15 is like the climbers at my local bouldering gym. It may look lean on the outside, but any problem can be solved when the muscles are flexed. On the XPS 15, those muscles are a Core i7-11800H CPU with 16GB of RAM powerful components that shrugged when I opened 35 tabs, four of which played 1080p videos. I then streamed a World Cup qualifier between Germany and Liechtenstein without experiencing a hint of lag.
On the Geekbench 5.4 overall performance benchmark, the XPS 15 reached an outstanding 7,477, which tops the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 and smoked the Razer Blade 15 Advanced . How much faster is the XPS than others in this category? The average score for premium laptops is 4,789. Oh, and the MacBook Pro with the M1 chip? It topped out at 7,306.
It took the XPS 15 OLED only 8 minutes and 10 seconds to convert a 4K video to 1080p resolution using the Handbrake app. The ZenBook Pro Duo 15 needed another seven seconds while the premium laptop average is nowhere near these powerhouses. Apple fans win a small victory here with the MacBook Pro with M1 completing this task in 7:44.
Speedy storage rounds out an excellent performance package the 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD in our review unit took 33 seconds to duplicate a 25GB multimedia file for an 825.6 megabytes per second transfer rate. It beat the premium average and the Blade 15 but the ZenBook Pro Duo was a bit quicker and the MacBook Pro is still king.
The Building Blocks Of A Great Video Editing Laptop
The right laptop for video editing is less about brand name or storage space and more about the right components for your workflow.
For video editing, the number one thing you have to look at is your processor and your graphics card. Then your RAM, or your memory, says videographer Chris Printz. When I buy a new laptop, I dont care as much about the storage. Thats because I dont edit from my desktop. All my footage that Im editing is going to be on an external SSD.
Storage isnt that important because youre probably editing all on external hard drives, seconds videographer Joshua Flom. I would say get a minimum of 1TB SSD, just so you can have proxy files or render files on your actual device.
SSD stands for solid-state drive, a newer and faster version of a hard disk drive . If budget is a concern, a 512GB SSD might even be enough in terms of internal storage since external SSD storage is an affordable and easy way to enhance your laptops performance.
If you dig a little deeper on SSDs, youll likely run into the acronyms PCIe and NVMe: good news if youll be handling more intense projects. These terms represent the latest interface and protocol for managing the data on your SSD quickly, and most high-end workstations, such as the Apple MacBook Pro, already use them.
