Use Automatic Driver Update Tool

Outdated drivers are one of the biggest causes of bad performance as your hardware components cant work optimally. You can use a free driver update tool to update drivers to the latest compatible version automatically. Although there are many apps for this purpose, I find DriverPack to be the most reliable so Ill recommend it. Its completely free to use and comes with a cool voice assistant who will guide you with every step to update your PC drivers.

DriverPack recommends installing their sponsored programs while you are updating to generate revenue, but you can easily ignore them as they dont force you to make a choice.

Update Laptop Drivers For Smoother Processing

Your laptop drivers ensure that the functions of your laptop are seamless and can be used efficiently with each other. Having an old laptop driver might have compatibility issues with the latest patch of the game that you are playing which in turn would ruin your laptops gaming performance. So make sure to always update your drivers to get the best experience on using your laptop.

Another tip is that, do not turn on your Windows Update automatically because if you do, it wont ask you and just will download files and latest drivers from the internet once they are available. If you are in the middle of playing a game and Windows Update suddenly kicked off, it might affect your network connectivity.

Boost Your Computers Performance

How to Boost Computer Performance: 9 Steps (with Pictures)
Small changes can add up to big improvements in the speed and efficiency of Windows PCs.

Computers, as most anyone can tell you, tend to run slower over time. The main reason is the installation of unnecessary applications and add-ins. Sometimes, malware also ends up on the computer . Before too long, the user is waiting an additional four or five seconds for each application to launch, each file to open, each webpage to load, and each page to print. That might not seem like much, but saving just 10 minutes a day translates to a time savings of more than 40 hours per year, so even a minor computer tuneup could yield significant productivity dividends.

With productivity in mind, this article provides a list of measures you can take to ensure that your Windows computer is operating at peak performance. To quickly test its performance, simply reboot the system and then launch Excel and a browser. If the system reboots in less than a minute and the applications launch in less than two seconds each, then your system’s performance is adequate otherwise, perhaps you should consider implementing some of the measures outlined below to rejuvenate the computer’s performance.

This setting adjustment will typically improve your computer’s performance significantly. If you neglect to check the two options I recommend, your Explorer windows will display icons instead of thumbnails, which is less user-friendly, and your screen fonts may be unacceptably more difficult to read.

What Is A Low Fps And What Causes It

Low FPS, or frames per second, is when your game slows down because your computer doesnt have enough power or memory to run it properly. Common causes of low FPS are a weak graphics card, old graphics drivers, an outdated CPU, or insufficient RAM.

Like movies, games are displayed on your monitor in a rapid-fire series of frames. The number of frames shown on your monitor each second is known as your frame rate and is measured in FPS frames per second.

Most games run between 30 and 60 FPS. At rates like these, things will look pretty smooth . For competitive gameplay and a super-smooth experience, most gaming monitors and new gaming laptops operate at speeds of 144 to 360 Hz, which allow for extremely smooth gameplay and lower latency.

If your computer isnt powerful enough to keep generating all these frames, the frame rate will fall. This results in the game looking and feeling as though it were running in slow motion.

Viewed as a console gaming vs. PC gaming issue, boosting FPS is a win for the PC gamers you cant modify a console once its in your hands. The FPS booster tips in this article are all about showing you how to increase FPS and speed up your computer for gaming.

    1. Click the Start button and click the Settings icon, which is shaped like a gear and is right above the Power icon.

    2. Click “Personalization.”

    4. Scroll down and turn off “Transparency effects” by sliding the switch to the left.

    Boost PC Or Laptop Performance

Youve probably heard that keeping your software up to date is a good idea for security. This is true and it can help performance too. Windows will automatically send you a notification when an update is available. You just need to make sure you dont keep putting it off.

If you think you might have missed an update, you can always check. Go to Start and click Settings or the settings icon. Then go to Updates & Security > Windows Updates.

Aside from your Windows operating system, drivers and apps should be kept up to date too. Again, this is good for both security and performance. If you think you might have missed an update, a quick online search should tell you which version you should be using.

Launch your antivirus software and make sure it’s up to date. Then run a full scan of your hard disk and, if your package allows, set up regular scheduled scans.

If you don’t yet have a malware removal suite and aren’t sure whether the built-in Windows protection is good enough, head to our antivirus software reviews to see which one to install.

Use Readyboost To Help Improve Performance

ReadyBoost lets you use a removable drive, like a USB flash drive, to improve your PCs performance without opening your PC and adding more memory . To use ReadyBoost, youll need a USB flash drive or a memory card that has at least 500 MB free and a high data transfer rate.

    To use ReadyBoost

  • Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on your PC.

  • Select File Explorer from the taskbar.

  • Press and hold the USB flash drive , then select Properties.

  • Select the ReadyBoost tab, then select Use this device.Windows determines if the device can use ReadyBoost. If it cant, it’ll let you know.

    Upgrade Your Storage To Ssd

Improve Your Gaming PC Performance Using 2 CMD Commands | Windows 10

Of course, everybody knows that your CPU, GPU, and RAM makes your gaming performance better. But a lesser-known fact is that even your storage type affects the processing speed of your laptop.

How would this affect your laptop? Well, while playing games, some data of your game are encrypted and stored locally, deep within your game files. And opening those files while playing games gives your storage some tasks to do. So a faster and newer generation of storage types will surely improve the gaming performance of your laptop.

    HDD vs SSD

Basically, there are two types of storage, namely, HDD and SSD. Their main difference is that HDD uses magnetic tape and mechanical parts to store information while SSD uses electricity. And only just by imagining it, you will know that electricity moves much faster than mechanical parts.

HDD uses mechanical parts that spin throughout the magnetic tapes to read the data that is encrypted on it. This is why you often hear or read the term RPM or Rotations Per Minute that is associated with HDD storage because it determines the speed on how fast it reads data.

SSD uses electric plates to store electrical charges which serve as a storage unit. You wont read any RPM that is associated with SSD storage because there are no rotating parts. All electrical data are just readily available anytime.

Many programs are designed to start automatically when Windows does. You dont realize they’re running, but they’ll open quickly when you go to use them. This is helpful for programs you use a lot, but not for programs you dont use often because it increases the time it takes Windows to start.

Find the programs that start automatically

Sometimes you can determine which programs start automatically by looking at the program icons in the notification area on the far right of the taskbar. Check there first to see if there are any programs running that you dont want to start automatically. To try to find out the name of the program, point to the icon with your mouse pointer. Make sure you select Show hidden icons , so you dont miss any programs.

Even after you check the notification area, you might still miss some programs that run automatically at startup. Heres how you can find all the programs that start automatically, and stop the ones that you dont want to start automatically when Windows starts.

To stop a program from starting automatically

  • Select the Start button, then select Settings > Apps > Startup.Open Startup Apps settings
