Ways To Create More Disk Space In Windows 10
Speed up your computer, make upgrades easier
When your computer runs low on physical storage, its speed, performance and ability to maintain system integrity will be affected. A poorly managed hard drive can leave you with little space to install significant updates and will generally degrade the user experience over time.
In this article, we will discuss several ways to create more disk space in Windows 10.
Save New Personal Files To Another Drive
Saving new files to another drive will help prevent low space problems on that drive in the future, so you wont have to move your files to another drive repeatedly. Instead of saving all your new files to the default drive, you can save some of them to a different drive that has more free space.
Select Start > Settings > System > Storage > Advanced storage settings> Where new content is saved.
For each content type, select a drive from the drop-down menu. If the drive you want to use isn’t listed there, make sure it’s connected to your PC.
Use A Disk Cleanup Program To Get Rid Of Unnecessary Files
Skim through your present existing files, apps, data in your laptop and decide whether you need all the files oris there something useless which you may never even take a look at?
If the answer is yes, then your problem is semi-solved.
Start to sort out and delete the files that you don’t need or use a disk cleanup program, which does the work for you.
Disk cleanup programs search for and delete the unnecessarily stored files from your laptop to get space for new files.
Before they make the disk cleanup done, You will need to give permission. It is an easy way to expand storage space.
If you wonder whether it’s safe to let the disk cleanup delete files, it is safe if Your laptop is running well. But if not, then make sure it doesn’t delete files which are needed to run properly.

If you’re on a Mac, you can analyze your drive for large files by clicking the Apple menu in the top-left corner and going to About This Mac > Storage. Running Out Of Hard Drive Space
I have a HP Stream 11 laptop I bought from Walmart, it came with Windows 8.1 and I went through the charade of upgrading from 8.1 to 10 so it would validate they key and then I immediately did a clean install. Sadly with this laptop, it only has a 32 GB eMMC drive , when formatted it is brought down to 28 GB, after the clean install I was at 15 GB, I have installed very very few and rather lightweight applications that at most take up 1 GB. So left with 14 GB, what I have noticed since then… it seems as the updates rolls out, I’m starting to run out of space, I just did the “November 1511” update and I am now down to 5.75 GB free.Is there anything I can do to slim down Windows 10? or Should I just downgrade to a different OS?
