Disable Programs Loading At Startup
There are many Programs and services which on windows start. This makes the windows loading slowly hence, increases the windows load time. By default, there are many apps which automatically load up / launch on the Windows Startup even when they are not required. So by disabling those Programs or items, we can make the Windows load faster. You can launch them manually when required after the Startup.
Follow the steps to disable start programs:
Restore Previous Working State
Sometimes your computer will begin to slow down after installing a new system update, device driver, or application. If you cannot determine why the device is slow, you can undo any changes by restoring the previous working state using a System Restore point.
To apply a restore point to fix performance issues on Windows 10, use these steps:
Click the System Restore button.
Once you complete the steps, the computer will roll back to a previous state bringing back when performance was not an issue.
When applying a restore point, your files will be preserved, but the process will remove system changes, updates, drivers, and applications installed after the restore point was created.
System Restore is not enabled by default. This means you must set it up before you can revert system changes.
Defragment The Hard Drive
If your laptop uses a hard drive, it might need to be defragged. Because HDDs access information sequentially, having information in multiple places increases the time the drive takes to access the information. Defragmenting your hard drive moves data that is on the drive into a logical formation, making it quicker to access.

Increase Page File Size
On Windows 10, the “page file” is a hidden file on the hard drive that works as memory, and it acts as an overflow of the system memory, which holds data for apps currently running on the device.
If you increase the size of the paging file, it can help to boost system performance.
To modify the page file to increase performance, use these steps:
After you complete the steps, the device will restart, and you should then notice a boost in performance while using apps. The performance will be more noticeable when configuring the page file in a Solid-State Drive.
If the new settings are causing issues or performance does not improve, you can always revert the changes with the same instructions outlined above. However, on step No. 9, make sure to select the System managed size option and check the Automatically manage paging files size for all drives option.

How To Make Your Laptop Go Faster With Windows 11 Power Mode
If youre wondering how to increase the performance of your Windows 11 PC, you may already know one way: Use the Windows 10 power-performance slider. But in Windows 11, Microsoft has hidden it in a new location. Well show you where.
Microsoft offers you an easy way to boost performance in Windows 10, as our previous article notes. On the Windows taskbar, clicking the battery icon opens what we know as the power slider, where you can trade lower performance for extended battery life.
In Windows 10, finding the Windows power-performance slider is simple: just click the battery icon
Naturally, this feature is common on laptops, less so on desktops. But it does make a difference. Microsoft, for example, dials down the performance slider on its devices to their most minimal settings, preserving battery life at the cost of performance. On Surface devices like the Surface Laptop 4 and the Surface Pro 7+, simply sliding the performance slide to best performance can give you an extra boost of six to seven percent, depending upon the benchmark.
As our Windows 11 review mentions, Microsoft moved the power-performance slider from its traditional role within the Windows taskbar to a new location within the Windows 11 Settings menu. Clicking the existing battery icon on the Windows 11 taskbar doesnt reveal the power slider. Instead, it actually opens the Windows 11 quick settings, where you can adjust the volume levels, turn on Focus Assist, and more.
Migrate Os To Ssd/hdd To Speed Up Windows 11/10
If you don’t have much space on your system disk to add to your system partition, your best option is to transfer your Windows 11/10 to another larger HDD or to switch your system disk from HDD to better-performing SSD.
The OS migration can be completed with EaseUS Partition Master mentioned above. The tutorial, including video and text, to transfer Windows to a new hard drive is thoroughly detailed in the linked article. Follow the guide to make your Windows 11/10 substantially faster.
Check the following steps on how to migrate OS to SSD or another bigger HDD.
Steps to migrate OS to HDD/SSD:
- Run EaseUS Partition Master, select Migrate OS from the top menu.
- Select the SSD or HDD as the destination disk and click Next.
- Check Warning: the data and partitions on the target disk will be deleted. Make sure that you’ve backed up important data in advance. If not, do it now.
- Then click Continue.
- Preview the layout of your target disk. Then click Proceed to start migrating your OS to a new disk
Note: The operation of migrating OS to SSD or HDD will delete and remove existing partitions and data on your target disk when there is not enough unallocated space on the target disk. If you saved important data there, back up them to an external hard drive in advance.

Check For And Remove Viruses And Malware
A virus, malware, or malicious software could cause your PC to run slowly. Other symptoms include unexpected pop-up messages, programs that unexpectedly start automatically, or the sound of your hard disk constantly working.
The best way to handle viruses and malicious software is to try to prevent them by running antimalware and antivirus software and keeping it up to date. However, even if you take precautions, your PC can still become infected.
You can scan your PC for viruses or other malicious software by using Windows Security , which is included in Windows 10. For more info, see How to protect your Windows 10 PC.
If youre using other antivirus or anti-malware software, see the documentation for that program to learn how to scan for viruses. Also, make sure multiple antivirus programs arent running at the same time. If they are, choose the one you want to run, and then disable or uninstall any others.
If you have another antivirus program installed and turned on, Windows Security will be turned off by default.
To scan for viruses using Windows Security
Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security and then select Open Windows Security.
To scan for malware and viruses with Windows Defender Offline
Save any documents or anything else you might have open on your PC.
Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security and then select Open Windows Security.Open Windows Security settings
Try to reproduce the performance issue.
Clean Up Hard Drive Space
Whether it is a traditional Disk Hard Drive or Solid-State Drive , it’s never wise to use a device with the hard drive almost full because it will affect performance.
If the device has relatively new hardware and you notice apps, managing files, and other tasks are struggling to complete, it is likely because the drive is running out of space. Typically, this becomes more evident after 70 percent of the total capacity has been used.
One way to prevent the storage from impacting performance is to use Storage Sense to delete temporary and unnecessary files to reclaim space.
To free up space with Storage Sense on Windows 10, use these steps:
Under the “Local Disk” section, click the Temporary files option.
Check the files you want to delete to reclaim space and improve system performance.
Quick tip: When selecting the temporary files, remember that checking the option will delete everything inside the “Downloads” folder. If you want to keep these files, do not check this option. Also, you can select to delete the “Previous Windows Installation” item . However, once you delete these files, you won’t be able to roll back to a previous version if you are having issues.
Click the Remove files button.
Once you complete the steps, if Storage Sense could reclaim enough space, the device’s performance should be noticeably improved.
If you could not reclaim enough space, use this guide to find more ways to optimize the storage.

You can disable transparency by visiting Settings > Personalization > Colors. Turn off the toggle button that says Make Start, taskbar, and action center transparent.
Turn Off Windows 10 Tracking
In this version of Windows, the system collects 3 categories of different data about the user: his location, diagnostic information, speech recognition, and also selects personalized ads based on the information received. Service utilities add additional workload, while for many users this concern already seems excessive.
To disable these functions, you need to right-click on the Start button and select the Options Privacy option. In the Personalization tab, you need to deactivate all 3 switches: input parameters using voice, using the keyboard and the identifier of the ad recipient. You can leave only the SmartScreen switch Smart Screen of Windows Defender here .
You also need to disable the following sliders:
- Section Location, which is responsible for determining the geolocation of the computer user.
- Camera section, allowing applications to use the webcam .
- Section Microphone, which gives programs access to the microphone .
- In the section Feedback and diagnostics in the upper drop-down list select the option Never, in the lower Basic information. In the Background applications section, disable all unnecessary and Xbox .
If you dont want to tinker with these settings yourself, you can install free DWS, Ashampoo AntiSpy, WPD or O& O ShutUp10 utilities that will do everything for the user.

Manually Ways to Improve Computer Performance
Replace Your Hard Drive With An Ssd
With a ‘regular’ hard drive , your laptop boots a lot slower than with an SSD. That’s why almost all modern laptops have an SSD. An SSD boots your laptop in less than 15 seconds. On top of that, loading programs and transferring files takes a longer an SSD does this 5 times faster than a hard disk on average. If you replace the hard drive for an SSD, your laptop will run a lot faster.

Pdf Reader Replacement: Sumatra Pdf
Lots of internet users believe that Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader is the only program capable of reading PDF files. That’s a myth. Because Adobe Acrobat can spread malware, you might want an alternative.
Sumatra PDF Reader is a better alternative to Adobe. I recommend Sumatra to everyone. Not only is it open-source, but it also reads comic books , blocks potentially malignant scripts, and runs on older systems.
All modern browsers can read PDF files. You may not even need a dedicated PDF reader.
