Fix : Delete Temporary Files
As the name suggests, temporary files are the kind of files that store temporary data that is created by Windows itself or the programs that users use. But they take up some hard drive space which makes your computer slow, which can also impact the responsiveness to the connection. So to make your computer run smoother, youre supposed to delete those files and it wont cause any problems. Heres how you can do this:
1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time to invoke the Run box.
2) Type %temp% and then press Enter on your keyboard.
3) Delete all the files in the temp folder.
4) If a window pops up saying that The action cant be completed, simply check the box Do this for all current items and click Skip.
5) Now go to your Recycling Bin from your desktop. Right-click on it and select Empty Recycle Bin.
6) Click Yes.
After deleting the temp files, launch your game to check if the lag is reduced. If the problem persists, proceed to the next fix.
Fix : Close Unnecessary Programs
The game lagging is generally a sign of a slow game. This can be caused by having too many high-power programs using your system resources. For the most optimal experience, it is recommended that when you run Roblox, you close those other programs. To do this, take these steps:
1) Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc together on your keyboard to trigger Task Manager.
2) From the Processes tab, click the programs that you want to stop from running one by one and click End task.
Other Apps Hogging Processing Power
Just because your game is the only thing you’re playing doesn’t mean that your PC isn’t busy doing other things too. Sometimes your machine might be running other apps in the background that could be eating up processing power and causing the lag.
If you’ve noticed an issue then press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC at the same time to open task manager from there you’ll be able to see the processes being run and what’s using the most in terms of processing power.
This includes showing apps currently using GPU, CPU and RAM. Obviously, if there’s something else in the list other than your game that’s using a large percentage of any of these things while you’re playing then that is probably part of the cause. Right-click on the offending process and click end task.
If you find there’s an app that’s doing this on a regular basis and it’s not essential to your PC gaming, then consider uninstalling it. Simply hit the Windows start key and type “add remove or remove programs” then find and uninstall the app.
Alternatively, if it’s something you use regularly but don’t need constantly then click on the startup tab on Task Manager. find the app and right click to disable it. That will stop it from loading every time Windows starts.

Now that your devices are up to snuff, its time to do an internet speed test to determine whether its really your internet connection that is affecting your .
You can conduct an internet speed test by inputting internet speed test into Google. Click the run speed test button for a gauge on what your current download speed is. If your speed score is low below 100 Mbps this could be an indication that the internet may be the problem.
Keep in mind that internet speeds vary depending on the number of users that are on your network at the same time. For this reason, consider doing a few internet speed tests throughout the day to determine if your bandwidth is overwhelmed. You might also want to plug your computer directly into an ethernet cable to see how the numbers change.

Adjust Your Power Options
Windows comes with several preset power plans to suit your needs. The default is set to Balanced, which takes into account performance and energy consumption. But the latter is only really a concern if youre running off battery or trying to keep the electricity bills down. As such, you may want to change your plan.
As its name suggests, the High performance plan is a better option is your PC is running slow. Although this option uses more energy, it favors performance so should help speed up your machine.
Aside from the standard options, you could choose to create your own custom plan. Go to Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Power Options> Create a power plan. Choose which existing plan you would like to start with, enter a name for your new plan, and select Next.
Basic options include how long the display stays on for when youre inactive and how long before the computer goes into sleep mode. These wont really affect your computers speed, but if you go into Change advanced power settings, you can make more adjustments that will have an impact.
Close Down All Other Programs When Playing
If your computers hardware is good enough to play the game, then you should make sure that you do not have any other programs open when youre trying to play. This will cut the effectiveness of your system and will make it unable to deal with the processes it needs to in order to make your game run properly. You should press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to bring up the task manager, select the Processes tab and then click on any program which is running under your username and press End Process. This should help your computer focus entirely on your game and not on any other programs that might be running in the background.

How Important Is Ping To Online Gaming
Ping plays a big role in fast-paced gaming. Your ping time is how long it takes a request from your network to reach and return from the server.
Picture your game character and an object for your character to interact with. When you press a button to interact with that object, how long it takes your character to react to the button you pressed is your latency.
Why is this important? In competitive multiplayer online games, the players’ ping times can determine who wins and who loses. In slower-paced games, though, your ping won’t be as big of a factor in your overall gaming experience.

Online Gamers: Check Your Network Speed
Gaming performance for your laptop is mostly determined by your hardware, drivers, and how your computer is configured. But if you’re playing online games, there is one other element to consider: your internet connection speed.
Lag is the usual cause of trouble with online gaming, whether caused by internet connectivitity or a slow connection between the laptop and wireless router. In most cases, your wireless network card will have the most up-to-date drivers, thanks to Windows Update, or whatever system updates your OS has downloaded.
If there’s no change after applying updates, consider a wired Ethernet connection to the router. You should also check to see if a gaming router can optimize gaming performance.

Lower The Graphics Setting
This is one of the simplest things you can do. Some games, by default, reduce their graphics settings to low, based on the performance of your PC. If the game does not do it automatically, just do it manually. Just go to the graphics settings of your game and lower the settings. Higher graphics cause more stress on your system. This results in the lag you face while you play. Lowering the graphics settings relieves your CPU of unnecessary strain. By giving up the visual quality of the game, you can surely enjoy the smooth gameplay. This is one solution for running high-graphics games on a low-end PC.
Close Unnecessary Background Apps
For the most part, background processes do not take up much processing power or memory. This is because windows services are optimized to run as efficiently as possible and stay on the low until they are actually needed.
But the same may not be true for any third-party applications. For example, many people are in the habit of keeping their web browser running while they start playing a game. Do you know how much memory a modern browser like uses?
Lots. You can open Task Manager on your PC to check how much memory and CPU is being taken up by all the processes running on your computer. To ensure that your video game can get all the resources it needs, consider quitting any apps hogging up too much memory.
Using The Wrong Graphics Card For Gaming
Gaming laptops have both a dedicated GPU and an integrated GPU . The dedicated GPU is usually more powerful than the integrated GPU because it has its own memory .
When playing games, it is recommended that you use the dedicated CPU since it renders images a lot faster. This enables you to get better Frames per Second and smoother gameplay without lags or stutters.
To set the dedicated graphics card as the main GPU, you need to go to your Nvidia or AMD GPU control panel and make adjustments. The following video explains how to switch from integrated graphics card to dedicated graphics card:

Thankfully, just maintaining your devices can make a big difference in your gaming experience. So, go forth, lower your ping, and higher those leaderboard rankings!

Keep in mind that you dont necessarily have to open a program directly for it to run in the background. Some of these programs automatically run at start-up .
To view all the programs that run on start-up on Windows, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl +Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager. Under the Start-up tab, youll be able to see all the programs that are currently running as well as their CPU and memory usage.
Right-clicking on the processes you want to close gives you the option to disable the program. Also, consider running an anti-malware software such as Malwarebytes to scan and remove malicious software that may be slowing down your Operating System .
