    Toshiba Satellite Update To 21h2

Trying to update this old Toshiba Satellite to the latest version of W10, using the Windows Update Assistant……but it stalls at 88%……is there anything I can do to get it to go through ?……for some reason, when I did a re-install, it installed version 1607…….

Del 80 said: …..for some reason, when I did a re-install, it installed version 1607…….This would be the Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-HE you have talked about elsewhere? If a clean install was 1607 then you used old install media. I’d use the Media Creation Tool to download the latest media for 21H2 and use that for another clean install. If you need to keep software and/or configuration changes since installing 1607, then download 21H2 as an ISO and use that to perform an in-place upgrade. This tends to be a more reliable way to upgrade, particularly if you don’t let it connect to the internet and check for updates until after the upgrade has completed. This is a choice available when upgrading by ISO, but not when using the Upgrade Assistant.

  • Thanks Bree…..just trying that now……fingers crossed !!- – – Updated – – -Nope, won’t work…..says something about “Already trying to update”…….have turned automatic updating, and anti virus off…….what now ?……
