Of course, the brightness is just 250 nits, so outdoor use wont be great, and it covers just 45% of the NTSC color space. Its not impressive in that regard, but its not worse than most competitors. There are three microphones, which had no trouble picking up my voice. They also have presets for game streaming, music recording, and conference calls. Those are handy, but theyre not enough to make the G15 a good choice for remote work because it doesnt include a webcam. The G14 also didnt have a camera Asus seems to have decided that webcams arent necessary on Zephyrus products. Its the one significant knock against a device that is basically perfect otherwise. Its also very odd to have such an advanced microphone setup and not have a webcam to go with it.
There are a couple other things to note about the G15s chassis. Like many other Asus laptops, the G15 has an ErgoLift hinge, which folds under the deck when the laptop is open and lifts the keyboard above the ground. This is supposed to create a more ergonomic typing position, though I cant say I ever noticed the difference. It does dig into your legs a bit if youre using the laptop on your lap, though. The G15s hinge isnt as sharp as some other hinges, but as a frequent couch user, its still not my favorite feeling.

With capable cooling to boot, the laptop delivers frame rates weve never seen in a laptop of this size before. It handled every game we threw at it without breaking a sweat.
But aside from its excellent gaming performance, the G14 makes a great daily driver. The touchpad, display, and port selection are all excellent, and the keyboard is one of the absolute best you can buy on the market. Even the battery life is good something we almost never get to say about gaming laptops.
There are a few downsides to the G14, but theyre fairly small and user-dependent. The most significant note is that it lacks a webcam youll need an external one if you plan on taking video calls. Theres also some bleed in the backlighting, theres no Thunderbolt connectivity , and the fans can get louder than most under load. But these are very much nitpicks that wont have a large impact on plenty of peoples gaming experience. Overall, though the Razer Blade 14 delivers better raw performance, we still have very few complaints.

Asus Rog Zephyrus Review
The best 1440P ASUS laptop for gamers

The standard ASUS ROG Zephyrus laptop serves as an excellent alternative to both of the laptops above. It doesnt have the 4K display that the DUO SE 15 has, or the 360Hz refresh rate that the ROG Strix Scar 17 does, but its 1440P 165Hz display is a slight upgrade in refresh rate over the Duo SE 15 and a nice screen resolution upgrade over the Scar 17.
And, at just over $2,100, it is siginificantly less expensive than those two laptops.
The ROG Zephyrus doesnt offer quite as high-end of hardware, though, offering an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS processor, 16GB of RAM, and an RTX 3070 GPU. So, the CPU is slightly weaker, you get half the RAM, and you have to settle for the next tier down in GPU.
While that doesnt sound ideal, the truth is that that combination is still incredible for a laptop and it will allow you to run pretty much anything on max settings.
So, if youre looking for a more moderately-priced gaming laptop from ASUS, the standard ROG Zephyrus is worth checking out.
