When Is Time To Go To A Specialist
Have you checked all of the above and your computer is still shutting down on its own? Be sure to put the equipment into service. When the cause lies deeper, your equipment needs a diagnosis of a good specialist.
Also, go to the site if performing service activities is problematic for you or if you do not have time to do so. When youre not familiar with the hardware enough to unscrew the computer yourself, clean components, and replace parts that may have been damaged, head to a professional for your own peace of mind. When replacing a cooling or graphics card, you need certain skills, without which it is easy to make mistakes or carelessness, which can result in damage to the component.
Check And Replace The Power Supply
First of all, check the power supply for settled dust/dirt. The dust/dirt might be settled on the power supply fans which can cause overheating in power supply. Follow the steps given below to check the power supply for dust/dirt.
If there is a lot of dust on the fan or inside the power supply then clean it. Make sure you clean the power supply properly. Once you are done, put the power supply back in the case and connect the wires back to where they were originally connected. Now close the casing and plug in the computer.
Solution : Update Outdated Drivers And Gpu Driver
Outdated drivers could be the culprit when your PC randomly shuts down.
To update any driver, open Device Manager by right-clicking on Start and selecting “Device Manager”.
Expand the devices one by one by one, right-click on each of them, and select “Update driver”.
If you can’t cope with the hassle of updating drivers one by one, check online for services that let you search for the outdated driver on your PC and update them automatically.
As far as the Graphics Processing Unit driver is concerned, you might not get the necessary update by updating it like you update other drivers.
Instead of doing that, you should check the manufacturer’s website and download updates from there.
The best way to update a GPU driver is explained below:
Step 1: Right-click on Start and select Device Manager.
Step 2: Expand Display adapters.
Step 3: Right-click on your display adapter and select Properties.
Step 4: Switch to the Details tab and click the “Device description” drop-down, then choose Hardware Ids.
Step 6: Open your browser, paste in the ID, and search for it. The first few search results will show the exact name and manufacturer of your GPU.
Step 7: Navigate to the website of the GPU manufacturer and download an updated driver.
Step 8: Install the driver and restart your PC

Reset The Bios Remove Overclocking App Settings
If your laptops BIOS settings have been messed with, that could be the cause of the sudden shutdown. Instead of looking for the errant setting, its much easier just to reset the BIOS to default. Since laptop BIOSes are designed to work with that specific laptop, you generally dont have to mess with the settings at all.
One of the things were trying to reset in the BIOS is anything to do with overclocking, memory timings, or voltages. Any setting that pushes a hardware component out of its factory default operating range.
While resetting the BIOS to default values is a good first step, its not enough. If you have any software that lets you overclock or modify hardware settings from the desktop, youll need to reset that to default as well. If your computer is shutting down faster than you can do this, you may want to boot into Safe Mode. If the BIOS is reset and the computer still shuts down in Safe Mode, thats a sure sign that the problem isnt related to overclocking or other improper hardware settings.

Windows Randomly And Spontaneously Shuts Down
This has happened 2-3 times on my desktop. Today it happened on my laptop. The computer just rapidly shuts down. However, when I turn it back on it comes up with the apps as it was when it shut down. The sleep indicator is not active, therefore it appears to have hibernated. It is doing this with no operator input to do so. Hibernation is disabled on both computers.
Both systems are running W10 pro and are up to date with 21H1.
There was no indication of overheating. There was no computer intensive apps running. A browser and email client and background apps are running. All of these things have been running forever so nothing has changed.
I can find posts reporting this problem in the past, but it was long enough ago that any solutions are probably not relevant today.
The desktop did it once one day then 2 times within a few hours a few days later and has not done it since. The laptop has just done it once today.
Has this been reported recently?
